Supplier description "Glass blower Dirk Bürklin"

Glass making in the tradition of the Black Forest glass blowers

Our glass blower Dirk Bürklin learnt his craft in the Dorotheenhütte Wolfach glass works in the Black Forest. He successfully completed his training as a glassmaker in 1987. After a few years of travel he opened his glass blowing workshop in Herrischried, close to the Klausenhof open air museum, in 1991. He develops true works of art in glass in his small workshop, sometimes in conjunction with colleagues in the field of glass blowing.

The interaction of transparency and the powerful, vibrant colours is what fascinates him about the material he works with. He combines this luminance with simple forms so that the glass maintains its intrinsic effect.
Every item is mouth-blown, making it a unique individual specimen.

Glass mouth-blown with fire and flame.
