Replicas of antique cuckoo clocks

Life on the farms in the Black Forest was hard and full of deprivation. Barren soil, the topographical situation and very long and cold winters were hardly ideal for agriculture. This enabled wood craft to develop at an early stage. Everyday objects such as cutlery, buckets or boards were made from wood in the living room or workshop at home.
The first clocks with wooden wheel mechanisms appeared from around the middle of the 17th century. Clocks with metal mechanisms were already available but they were only affordable for those in the higher echelons of society. The early Black Forest clocks were therefore the clocks of the common man. Original versions of these clocks would be unaffordable today.
Our antique replicas of the early Black Forest clocks allow you to adorn your living room with a piece of Black Forest timekeeping history at traditionally affordable prices.
